Studio Manager

We are looking for a Studio Manager to support our multi-disciplinary team of researchers, designers, and software engineers, and our dynamic, growing business.

The Role

The Studio Manager ensures that the daily life of the studio runs smoothly and enables our teams and executives to do their best work. The Studio Manager is the main point of contact for day-to-day studio operations and is part of the operations team, which includes finance, business operations and human resources.

The ideal Studio Manager candidate

  • Is organized and diligent, and can manage a variety of tasks ranging from general administration, record and bookkeeping, to client and vendor communications and event coordination and planning.
  • Is a professional communicator who enjoys collaboration and managing a diverse, dynamic range of needs.
  • Is resourceful and continuously looks for creative solutions to improve the way things are done in the studio.


General Studio Administration

  1. Being the first point of contact -- greeting guests at the studio and answering general inquiry emails and phone calls.
  2. Managing supplier relations, office supplies and studio event planning.
  3. Coordinating meetings, managing calendar scheduling, and booking travel for executives and team members.

Operational and Financial Management

  1. Maintaining records of all client agreements (Master services agreements, and Statements of Work).
  2. Maintaining record of employee contracts and files.
  3. Basic bookkeeping - entering bills / creating invoices / creating expense reports (quickbooks experience an asset), managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and day-to-day banking (depositing cheques, sending payments etc).

Back Office Administration and Reporting

  1. Assists employees with HR-related requests including, new employee on-boarding, benefits claims, time-off and vacation requests.
  2. Manages software licenses and subscriptions.
  3. Works with team leads to create project status reports, assists with project forecasting and ensures that accurate project records are maintained.
